The design process:

1. Contact us via phone or email.

2. Initial consultation to discuss project requirements, choice of style, preferences, budget & “wish list.”

3. Site visit to determine the nature of the building site.

4. Site analysis to determine legal constraints. i.e. zoning, building setbacks, building size limitations.*    

5. Creation of preliminary drawings showing site plan, floor plans, elevations & cross-section. Consultation and development of preliminary plans continue until client approval of the design is reached. Creation of an optional 3D model is helpful at this stage in visualizing the completed project.

6. Preliminary drawings are expanded into construction drawings. Here the design is further refined and detailed to contain all the information necessary to obtain permits and to construct the building.  

* Projects that require a Building Permit will also require a property survey document showing legal lot size, relevant topographical information & natural features.  This can be obtained by contacting a local land surveyor.
